Whlist investigating a distress signal Malcom falls ill when the Enterprise encounters a Suliban which is in fact from the future but their opponent turns out to be well-meaning and vulnerable to a show of emotion and so they do the obvious (eventually) and the guest star dies a heroic death, which means everything turns out okay, and everybody forgets it ever happened. Then, finally Archer says something witty and they leave at warp factor four.
